The LAMY Safari fountain pen was introduced at the Frankfurt Fair in 1980 and became the best-selling fountain pen in the world. Designed by Wolfgang Fabian, it has a light, impact-resistant plastic body, a molded grip that sets the fingers in a relaxed hold, a sprung metal clip, and a window that shows how much ink is left.
The polished steel nib is smooth and forgiving for a first fountain pen, and it swaps out in seconds if you want a different width later. Fine suits small handwriting and thinner papers. Medium is wetter and a little more forgiving for someone new to fountain pens.
Colours in stock
Umbra is a matte dark grey, sometimes sold as charcoal. Red is the classic Safari red. Neon Pink and Meteora are LAMY special editions and will not be restocked once they sell.
Filling
Takes LAMY T10 cartridges, and one blue cartridge comes with the pen. To fill from a bottle, add a LAMY Z28 converter. The Safari does not take standard international cartridges.
Every pen in our case can be tried before you buy. Come write with one at the shop on North Washington Street in Havre de Grace.
