The cult pencil. Blackwing's legendary soft graphite core and distinctive flat eraser have made them a favorite of writers, musicians, and artists for decades — from John Steinbeck to Stephen Sondheim to animators at Walt Disney Studios.

The lineup starts with three permanent editions: the 602 (firm, precise — Steinbeck's pencil), the Pearl (balanced, all-purpose), and the Matte (soft and expressive). The Natural leaves the cedar unfinished. Beyond those, Blackwing releases limited Volume editions throughout the year, each honoring a specific artist, musician, or cultural moment — collectible by nature, useful by design.
